HI! I'm Sam - I know how it feels to get started in the food photography and blogging space

I was a struggling food photographer and blogger literally googling “what is a DSLR only 4 years ago”.

I was a pastry school grad and loved sharing my recipes online but quickly learned that if you didn’t have beautiful photography to match, it wasn’t going to take you as far as you think.

So I set off on a mission to learn everything I could about food photography, styling, and how to make money online while working from home and taking care of my family.

In my search to master everything about food photography and styling, I was able to create a beautiful recognizable brand, work with huge clients that actually paid me, and win a Saveur Blog Award with only 5,000 Instagram followers. 

Now, I get to work with all kinds of clients, negotiate 5-figure contracts, and coach students on how to grow their businesses. 

Honestly, there is ZERO reason why you can’t write your own story of success in food photography.

But at some point, you have to decide that you’re going to FOCUS, go for it, and invest in the right resources.

4 Years Ago, I didn't have a clue how to use my camera.

I was a mom who wanted something that was her own. I wanted to contribute financially to my family. I wanted to create something that I could be proud of. I was dying to start a food blog, but quickly realized I needed better photos of my food to do just that. I took some really awful photos. Like, really barfy ones.

I also got no blog trafffic for months and I had 400 followers on Instagram. To get better I devoured everything I could to learn about food photography. I bought books, took a whole bunch of food photography courses, masterminds, and workshops. I spent hours upon hours practicing what they taught me.

I took this photo only 3 months after learning how to use my camera.

AND IT IS STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE PHOTOS TO DATE.
